About Us
Located in Northern Virginia, on the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Blue Sky Flowers is a family-run flower and vegetable farm in Purcellville, VA.
We are Page and Bill Smithers, and we live and work on Blue Sky Farm along with our two dogs, Wrigley and Scout. Occasionally, you'll spot other family members (kids and grandkids) helping out. Our chickens and ducks also roam the farm and help support us by providing needed compost and loads of eggs.

Why did we choose to farm flowers and grow vegetables?
We love a challenge! Farming is a juggling act -- trying to manage and build the soil (i.e. PH balance), planting at just the right time, choosing plants that thrive in our climate, braving the elements - wind and rain (or lack of ) and so much more. But the hard work is rewarding.

Flower and vegetable farming came natural to me. Growing up in Tidewater, Virginia, I spent a lot of time on the water and in my grandparents' gardens. When I was not catching crabs or fishing, I was helping pick corn, string beans, okra, tomatoes, and more. Page's mother, Patsy Blackwell (pictured with us) was an avid gardener and a long-time member of The Garden Club of Virginia always growing beautiful flowers around our home.
Bringing beauty into people's homes and sharing the joy flowers is incredibly satisfying. We look forward to another season of growing beautiful flowers and so much more.
